Yasemin CAN (TUR) - bronze
On recovering from health problems to win European bronze:
"To me, this medal is like a miracle. In the past I would be thinking about gold, but then I got serious health problems which blocked me and I have been training for this race just the last three weeks.
"So I am very happy and with tears in my eyes.
"My problems were with my heart, it is some kind of diagnosis that you train and you are not improving. The oxygen was very low. So I stopped training and had some rest.
"I hope I am coming back and it will improve at the next championships. Maybe the cross country will go even better."
On seeing Israel's Lonah Chemtai SALPETER celebrate crossing the finish line one lap too early:
"When I saw the girl stopped one lap before the finish, I was surprised because I knew we still had one lap to go and was ready to push. So I used the chance. She must have been confused."
