CB: BAAUW (NED) - 'The crowd went wild, it gave me goosebumps'

GLASGOW - Comments from BMX rider Judy BAAUW (NED) after winning women's motos heat 4 at the Glasgow BMX Centre, Knightswood Park, on Friday.

On racing at Glasgow BMX Centre, Knightswood Park:

"I really didn't expect so many people, it's really amazing. I saw Bethany SHRIEVER from the UK, I was lined up behind her [SHRIEVER competed in heat 2], and when they announced her name, the crowd went wild. It gave goosebumps even to me."

On her performance:

"Everything went well. I had a little crash in practice but I feel all good. The track is really difficult but it's nice, really technical, but I really do like it.

"It's difficult but it's the sport and I think if you are really good and you are a professional then you should handle every track. So it's fine."

On the strong Dutch team performance:

"We are doing really well here, we are really strong. We've got the SMULDERS sisters [Laura and Merel, who took gold and silver at the recent world championships]. Also in my moto, I had two other Dutch girls [Ruby HUISMAN who qualified second and Manon VEENSTRA third]."
