CM: FERRAND PREVOT (FRA) - silver in women's mountain bike
GLASGOW - Comments from Pauline FERRAND PREVOT (FRA) after taking the silver medal in the women's cross country at the Cathkin Braes Mountain Bike Trails on Tuesday.
Pauline FERRAND PREVOT (FRA) - silver
On her race and taking the silver medal behind Jolanda NEFF (SUI):
"It was a good race for me. I was second, but I am happy with that. I think Jolanda was stronger today so it is a good place for me. I gave everything so I am happy with that."
On her battle with Gunn-Rita DAHLE FLESJAA (NOR) before her rival suffered a broken chain:
"She broke her chain on the steep climb. I think she was very strong today and she could, I think, have come back on Jolanda. It is a shame, but this is a mechanical sport. There is nothing you can do about it. Only the mechanic. Tonight, he will have a bad moment."
On her tactics, knowing she had a big lead in the silver medal position:
"The team gave me the information and I knew it was quite a big gap so I tried to ride clean and not make any mistakes as it would have been easy to have a flat (tyre)."
On her future race plans:
"I will do the world cup meeting in La Bresse in France (25-26 August) then I will do the world championships (in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, from 4-9 September). It is a big goal for this season so I hope I can be in good shape."
