GLASGOW - Comments from track cyclists Daria PIKULIK (POL) and Lisa BRENNAUER (GER) after Poland and Germany qualified for the women's team pursuit finals at Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, Emirates Arena on Thursday.
On her sister, Wiktoria PIKULIK, also being a part of the Polish cycling squad:
"She is my best friend, I love her so much. My dream is to ride with her in Tokyo (2020 Olympic Games)."
On the qualifying race:
"It was very good. We have a very strong team, a very young team. This is their first classification to the Olympics, we have a very long time till Tokyo."
On the youthfulness of the team:
"I think that is good because Tokyo is two years away so we have a long time together. Younger riders are also much more aggressive."
Lisa BRENNAUER (GER)
On clocking 4 minutes, 25.187 seconds, just short of the German national record of 4 minutes 24.369 seconds:
"We were happy with the time, it's just above the German record, we can improve on a few little things but we are happy to have qualified."
On their medal chances:
"We can only take it race by race, it looks like Britain will be very strong and will set a benchmark time today but we feel like we can go faster."
