CT: SCHMIDT (DEN) - 'The Brits are just so f****** strong - all of them'

GLASGOW - Comments from Trine SCHMIDT (DEN) after her qualifying run in the women's individual pursuit in the Glasgow 2018 European Track Cycling Championships at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, Emirates Arena, on Saturday.

On recovering from finishing sixth in the women's scratch race final on Friday evening:

"I don't think it takes out that much. Of course I was disappointed not to go on the podium (but) as a rider you need to adapt to the new day coming. It just about giving all you have on the day."

On her main rivals for the women's elimination race on Sunday:

"I think Amy PIETERS (NED) is there, and she will be the one to beat and then, of course, the Brits - whoever is there. They're just so fucking strong - all of them."

On why she will not defend her European title in the points race:

"We have three girls on the national team for the first time in history, so we rotate to get as many (Olympic qualification) points as possible. I want to defend the title but it is about more than just me."
