DV: KUZNETSOV (RUS), TIMOSHININA (RUS) - bronze in mixed team diving
EDINBURGH - Comments from Evgenii KUZNETSOV (RUS) and Iuliia TIMOSHININA (RUS) after taking bronze in the diving mixed team at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh on Monday.
Evgenii KUZNETSOV (RUS) - bronze
On taking bronze:
"Obviously, it wasn't our best, but we got a medal and this is something we can be proud of."
On how the team event sets him up for his other events, the 3m and 3m synchronised springboard:
"It is a very good experience and a good preparation for the other events. As we know, the mixed team is not an Olympic event and the experience here can take off some of the stress and help to perform better in the individual and synchronised dives."
Iuliia TIMOSHININA (RUS) - bronze
On underperforming in her last dive, a back dive with two and a half somersaults and twist:
"I am very upset. It was because of nerves. Usually it is a good dive for me and it was unexpected that this happened."
On how the team event sets her up for her next events 10m and 10m synchronised platform:
"I hope that the team event helps me. Tomorrow (Tuesday) I'll compete in the (10m) synchro."
