DV: PUNZEL (GER) - bronze in women's 3m springboard
EDINBURGH - Comments from Tina PUNZEL (GER) after taking bronze in the women's 3m springboard at the Royal Commonwealth Pool on Saturday.
Tina PUNZEL (GER) - bronze
On her performance:
"I felt good, but I got a bit nervous at the end again. I wanted the individual medal so badly and now I have it."
On being nervous:
"You know when it is going well, when you are diving well, even when you are not following the results of the others, and then it is hard to control the nerves completely. But I do not want to complain about my result."
On competing against the British divers Grace REID and Alicia BLAGG in Great Britain:
"There is always some home advantage. Nevertheless, the two girls showed an excellent performance in front of a home crowd when there certainly is some pressure. When you take your dives as well as they did you deserve it (to win). To win at home is something very special, so I am very happy for those two girls."
On heading into her last competition, the women's 3m synchronised, on Sunday:
"It would be great to continue like that, but we'll start from zero tomorrow [Sunday]. We have a great team this time and the atmosphere is super. The medals of the others are motivating for us as well.
"I would not expect too much, because Lena [HENTSCHEL, GER] is still young and can make mistakes. I just hope to be able to take her into the competition with me."
