DV: REID (GBR) - 'Tonight, I'm going to give it everything'
EDINBURGH - Comments from diver Grace REID (GBR) after finishing second in the women's 3m springboard preliminary at the Royal Commonwealth Pool on Saturday.
Grace REID (GBR)
On her performance in the preliminaries:
"I'm really pleased, it was steady with no major dramas. Everything I needed for a prelim."
On diving in an individual event:
"It's nice having someone next to you, but I feel more in control when it's just me on the board.
"I really enjoy competing individually and I really enjoyed myself today."
On her preparations for the final:
"I'm really excited for the final and hoping to come back and give a little bit more.
"I'm not going to change anything, as I've done a couple of Europeans before and I've finished this high up once before [bronze in this event in 2016 European Championships in London] and I've learnt a hard lesson about holding back a little bit.
"Tonight, I'm going to give it everything."
On competing on home soil in Edinburgh:
"It's amazing to hear so many Scottish voices and I'm really hoping it can lift me this afternoon. It's certainly seen as an asset rather than a pressure.
"The support I've had from day one (of my entire career) can't be faulted. It truly makes a difference to my performance.
