GA: NGUYEN (GER) and TOBA (GER) - 'In the end I took the risk'
GLASGOW - Comments from Marcel NGUYEN (GER) and Andreas TOBA (GER) after subdivision three of men's gymnastics qualifications at the SSE Hydroon Thursday.
Marcel NGUYEN (GER)
On making it to the team final:
"The competition was good but tough today. I made some mistakes during my parallel bars routine and my team-mate Andreas BRETSCHNEIDER had some mistakes on high bar. I am very happy to make it to the team final."
On what went wrong with his parallel bars routine:
"There were a few minor mistakes which consumed a lot of my strength, and at the end I was very tired. My dismount was very difficult, it was a Tsukahara [double tuck full]. I thought about doing a double pike instead, which would have been easier. In the end I took the risk and did the difficult dismount. It's sad but I am happy that we have made the team final."
Andreas TOBA (GER)
On the team's performance on Thursday:
"We had a good start on still rings and vault, followed by difficult horizontal bar and parallel bars routines. After that we got our spirit back, made some good floor routines and everyone stayed on the pommel horse. We did everything we could and got into the final."
