GO: ENOCH (GBR), FORD (GBR) - 'I'm disgusted at losing like that'
GLASGOW - Comments from Rhys ENOCH (GBR) and Charlie FORD (GBR) after their 4&3 defeat by the Great Britain 3 team of Connor SYME and Liam JOHNSTON in their opening Group B match at the Gleneagles PGA Centenary Course on Wednesday
On losing to Great Britain 3:
"It's extremely disappointing. We both hit the ball long and it's a long course, but we just couldn't get it going. It was a really flat day. They made three or four decent putts and that was it, there was no way back."
On their next match:
"We have to win. It's simple."
On playing for their country:
"I'd be disgusted at losing 4&3 at home with nothing on it. So to lose like this while representing Great Britain is upsetting. We are going to need to come back tomorrow and be fired up. We need to get something started earlier than we did today."
On where it went wrong:
"You need some momentum in match play and you can build from that. We did get a birdie after a few holes and were playing nicely, but from them on we didn't get the ball close enough."
On playing for Great Britain and losing:
"We've both just come off the British Open, which is a hell of a bigger tournament, but you want to do well wherever you are playing. Winning and losing still feels the same."
