GO: GUSTAVSSON and ENGSTROM (SWE)
GLASGOW – Comments from Sweden 2 pair Johanna GUSTAVSSON and Julia ENGSTROM after their 2&1 defeat by Justine DREHER (FRA) and Manon MOLLE (FRA) in their Group B match at the Gleneagles PGA Centenary Course on Wednesday.
Johanna GUSTAVSSON (SWE)
On how they felt about their defeat:
"I definitely think there are positives. Being five down, we managed to turn the game round a little bit."
On whether they can still qualify:
"Definitely, because we’ll take with us all the birdies we’ve made and keep trying to get it close to the pin and see what happens."
Julia ENGSTROM (SWE)
On why they found themselves five down after 12 holes:
"In the beginning, it was like one (of us) had a good opportunity and the other didn’t. I feel like we both gave ourselves opportunities nearer the end."
On what they learned about how to play the course:
"You have to hit it quite close to the hole because the greens are pretty fast and pretty firm. The important thing is to hit the irons and wedges close to the pin and take advantage of the par fives because we don’t play them that long this week."
