GO: MERONK (POL) - 'Playing in the Olympics is my aim'
GLASGOW - Comments from Adrian MERONK (POL) after practice for the golf team event at the Gleneagles PGA Centenary Course on Tuesday.
Adrian MERONK (POL)
On representing Poland:
"It is great, especially with my friend Mateusz GRADECKI (POL). It’s the first time ever, so I'm very excited."
On the format at Glasgow 2018:
"It is a bit different, but it is good for us because we play stroke play every week. (This is) more fun, it keeps the mind fresh. It's exciting for the spectators and us."
On the reaction back home if the Poland team does well:
"It would probably make a big impression. There is a European championship for swimming, track and field, so if we do well in this golf European championship it would go well in Poland."
On golf having it's own European Championship:
"With golf being in the Olympics now I think it is a good thing for golf to be included in the European Championships."
On his aim of competing at the Olympic Games:
"Oh yes. As an athlete that is one of my goals."
