The preparations for Germany's biggest sporting event of the year are almost completed. The anticipation is overwhelming among everyone involved, including officials, athletes and fans. On Monday 6 August 2018, the 24th European Athletics Championships will begin with day "Q" in Berlin's Olympic Stadium and on the streets of the sports metropolis. The starting signal for the continental competitions is eagerly awaited.
In addition to the Olympic Stadium, the European Mile at the Breitscheidplatz in the City West plays a crucial role. Here not only the start and finish of the walking and marathon competitions are located, but also will the qualification in the men's shot put take place. In addition, the victory ceremonies will be celebrated and the medals awarded on a large show stage.
