GLASGOW - Quotes from world junior record holder and third fastest man in history over the distance Kristof MILAK (HUN) after qualifying first from the 200m butterfly heats at Tollcross International Swimming Centre on Saturday.
Kristof MILAK (HUN)
On whether he felt pressure going into the race, given only two swimmers from Hungary could progress:
"I felt a little pressure. I saw the heat with Tamas (KENDERESI) and Bence (BICZO) and watching their times meant I had to come up with something big. Then I saw Laszlo (CSEH) who was tremendous until 150 but there was a kind of meltdown in the last 50 and I felt really sorry for him. But after that I could produce what I needed to."
On how he felt after a smooth-looking performance:
"It felt good all the way. The pace of the first 50 and the last 50 was all the same as a feeling. The only problem is I am a little sick now with a cold. Maybe from the air conditioning, maybe an allergy, so I am struggling a little bit with that. That is why I am a little bit more tired than usual after this first 200 fly."
