SW: CLARK (GBR) - silver in women's 50m breaststroke
GLASGOW - Comments from Imogen CLARK (GBR) after winning silver in the women's 50m breaststroke at Tollcross International Swimming Centre on Thursday.
Imogen CLARK (GBR) - silver
On winning a silver medal at her first major championships:
"(It's) absolutely mad. It's crazy. I can't believe it. I was hoping to progress in every round and I got a Commonwealth record yesterday and finished with a silver medal. It's just mint. I'm buzzing, so happy."
On being inspired by team-mate Ben PROUD (GBR), who won gold in the men's 50m freestyle before her race:
"When I heard Ben go out, I (felt), 'I'm ready to go, now I've heard that'."
On having to work on the 100m as 50m breaststroke will not feature on the Tokyo 2020 Olympic programme:
"Since I moved to Loughborough University three months ago, that's all I've been working on. I've done no speed work, so to come out with a second (place) on the 50 is just crazy because I've not worked for it.
"I've now got two years to work on the 100, and I'll make sure it's smashed by then."
