SW: LITCHFIELD (GBR) - 'VERRASZTO (HUN) has been amazing'
GLASGOW - Comments from Max LITCHFIELD (GBR) after qualifying second for the final of the men's 400m individual medley at Tollcross International Swimming Centre on Thursday.
Max LITCHFIELD (GBR)
On his performance, given it was only his second race over that distance in a year:
"It felt good. It hurt a bit on the back end. Hopefully it will be a good race with those guys."
On whether he felt as though a weight had been lifted off his shoulders by his bronze medal in the 200m individual medley:
"I guess so. I’ve felt pretty relaxed these last few days and I suppose the doubts that I wouldn’t be in great form after the shoulder (injury) have disappeared out of the way. It’s good to get in there this morning and show a good heat time."
On the final:
"It's just going to be a matter of racing out with those guys again tonight. David (defending champion David VERRASZTO, HUN) has been amazing the last few years at the Europeans and stuff. It’s going to be a tough race between him and there are a few other guys who can step up. So I am just looking forward to being part of that race tonight."
