GLASGOW - Comments from Russia's synchronised swimming mixed duet coach Gana MAKSIMOVA (RUS) and Aleksandr MALTSEV (RUS) after the medal ceremony for the mixed duet technical, in which the Russian pair won gold, at the Glasgow 2018 European Championships on Friday.

Gana MAKSIMOVA (RUS) - coach

On the gold medal-winning performance of Russia's Mayya GURBANBERDIEVA and Aleksandr MALTSEV:

"We had to change the programme in less than one hour. The change was very stressful for the team.

"We had to change it because we could get penalties if (it was left) not changed."

Aleksandr MALTSEV (RUS) - gold

On having to change their routine shortly before the competition:

"We had to change the programme in 30 minutes only, to avoid penalties for including too many lifts.

"The change was very stressful."
