Arco to kit out workforce for Glasgow 2018

Arco joins Glasgow 2018 European Championships sponsor family.

Leading safety company Arco has today been announced as Official Uniform Provider to the Glasgow 2018 European Championships, following a competitive tendering process.

Arco will provide uniforms for thousands of volunteers and staff working across 12 venues around Scotland during the new multi-sport event taking place between 2 and 12 August.

A range of clothing items will be created as part of the official Glasgow 2018 uniform including polo shirts, trousers, softshell jackets, back packs and baseball caps.

Arco has a track record of designing and delivering practical and comfortable uniforms for major international events including uniforms for Hull UK City of Culture 2017 and for the London City volunteers during the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Glasgow 2018 Championships Director Colin Hartley said: “We’re delighted to welcome Arco to the Glasgow 2018 sponsor family. In less than 100 days the stage will be set once again for Glasgow and Scotland to host a memorable and thrilling international sporting event. The Glasgow 2018 uniform will unite our volunteers and staff and we are working with Arco on something practical and stylish that will set Team 2018 apart and make them proud to be part of this world-first event.”

Bryan Lawrie, Sales and Marketing Director at Arco said: “Arco are proud to be working with Glasgow 2018 to design and deliver a uniform that will provide volunteers and staff with kit that is not only comfortable and practical, but is also a vibrant and distinctive design reflecting Glasgow and Scotland’s ability to deliver on the biggest stage to a worldwide audience.”

The biggest sporting event to be held in Scotland since the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow 2018 will see some of the continent’s leading sports come together, including the existing European Championships for Aquatics, Cycling, Gymnastics, Rowing and Triathlon with a new Golf Team Championships.

Arco joins Atos, Gleneagles, Harper Macleod LLP, Avid, NVT Group, Aggreko and Glasgow Airport as part of the Glasgow 2018 sponsor family.
