DOWNIE (GBR) withdraws from Glasgow 2018 gymnastics competition
GLASGOW - Becky DOWNIE (GBR) has withdrawn from the gymnastics competition at the Glasgow 2018 European Championships.
DOWNIE sustained an injury dismounting from beam during podium training on Tuesday. As a precaution it has been decided to withdraw her from the competition.
The 26-year-old will be replaced by Taeja JAMES (GBR), who was part of England's silver medal winning team at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.
DOWNIE had been set to return on the international stage at Glasgow 2018, after having faced an elbow injury at the 2017 European championships in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
