Athletes will compete individually, in pairs (known as synchronised diving or synchro), or as a team. From either a platform or a springboard, athletes will perform complex dives and are judged on the difficulty level and execution. The men's and women's 1m and 3m springboard and 10m platform events feature a preliminary and a final while the men's, women's and mixed 3m and 10m synchro events and the team event are direct finals. Highest score wins.

Nestled below Edinburgh’s famous landmark Arthur’s Seat, the Royal Commonwealth Pool has staged many major diving and aquatic events since it was first opened back in 1970 including three Commonwealth Games – in 1970, 1986 and 2014. The award winning Grade A listed building will host divers competing from heights of 1, 3 and 10 meters.

From either a platform or a springboard, athletes will perform complex dives and are judged on the difficulty level and execution.

Federation

Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN) is the European governing body for aquatic sports affiliated to FINA. LEN was founded in Budapest in 1926. It is the oldest continental federation governing and coordinating aquatic sports. LEN comprises 52 national swimming federations and oversees the aquatic sports of diving, swimming, open water swimming, synchronised swimmng and water polo in Europe. LEN has introduced and led many innovations across the different aquatics disciplines. Its continental calendar of events has seen the introduction of a wide range of youth competitions, programs and events, giving the opportunity of participation to everybody in all aquatic disciplines.
