Croatia’s Olympic rowing champion brothers embrace multi-sport Championships

Croatia’s double Olympic champion Sinkovic brothers, Valent and Martin, have praised the concept of rowing being part of the multi-sport European Championships Munich 2022.

The duo have returned to the double scull this season having won three straight European Championships gold medals in the men’s pair, including in Glasgow 2018. They previously won the double sculls back in 2016 in Brandenburg.

“It’s definitely a good thing for the sport of rowing because there’s a lot more media interest, better organisation, more people.,” Valent told World Rowing.

“You can see it’s something bigger than just the European in rowing, so we love it.”

The brothers opened their 2022 campaign with a comfortable heat victory over Poland on Day 1 of the Championships and progress to the final at the Olympic Regatta Centre on Day 3.
