France's finest take on the fighting Irish
Rowing from 09:30.

In a packed schedule of races at Strathclyde Country Park, the pick could well be the third heat of the lightweight men's double sculls, which pits the French - including Olympic, World and European Champion Pierre Houin - against Ireland's O'Donovan brothers, who took silver at last year's European Championships.

Europe's best on show at The SSE Hydro
Gymnastics from 10:00.

The SSE Hydro will host a wealth of gymnastics talent when competition starts on Thursday, headed by Rio 2016 Olympic Games balance beam champion Sanne Wevers of the Netherlands, and Germany's Pauline Schaefer , the 2017 World Champion in the same discipline. Also in action are Russia's double European Champion Angelina Melnikova, who won gold in the team event in 2016 and in the floor exercise last year, and 2017 European uneven bars Champion Nina Derwael (BEL).

Italians and Brits pedal into battle again
Track cycling from 18:30

Track Cycling kicks off at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, Emirates Arena, with the women’s and men’s team pursuit qualifying rounds, and another likely showdown between Italy and Great Britain. The Italian women, ranked world number one, will be aiming to retain their European crown from the number three Brits, who they beat in the final in Berlin last year. In the men’s event, the wheel is turned, as Great Britain top the international rankings ahead of 2017 European silver medallists Italy, who will be led by reigning European and World individual pursuit Champion Filippo Ganna.
