64 teams, 19 nations, 16 groups - exactly 50 days before the start of the European Championships Munich 2022, the draw for the European Beach Volleyball Championships took place in the Bavarian capital. A total of nine German teams will be competing in the title matches at Königsplatz.

Luxembourg, June 21, 2022. Olympic, World and four-time European champions Anders Mol/Christian Sørum of Norway, aka the Beach Volley Vikings, will be trying to add another chapter to their unprecedented success story in the sport as they will be starting their quest for further glory as the top-seed in the men’s competition at the European Championships Munich 2022.

Katja Stam and Raïsa Schoon are the shooting stars of beach volleyball. The Dutch duo was the youngest team at the Tokyo Olympics at just 22 and 19. Mere weeks later the pair won silver at the CEV EuroBeachVolley in Vienna. The once rising stars are no longer up and coming, but new fixed stars on the beach volleyball horizon. At the start of the 2022 season the unlike duo snatched up the world lead, and they don’t plan on letting it go.
